Beautiful story about cats
When did I last read a book and cried before The Goodbye Cat? It has to be a long time ago because I don't remember. But I don't regret it. These tears helped me find acceptance, even if it was difficult to move to the following sentence, knowing what would happen.
It was my first book by Hiro Arikawa. Could I imagine a better start with a new author? I don't think so. In this book, there's a set of seven stories. And I love stories, it's my favourite form. The next amazing thing about it is cats. Since I had a chance to live with a cat for two years, I understand these mysterious animals much better. Reading about them in this book was like living with a cat again.
Hiro Arikawa understands these animals. Her stories are like cats! Every story is different. Even if you take a book on your lap in the evening, you know the book has chosen you. Every story is unique and has the perfect length. You wouldn't change anything.
I think the immense talent of this author is creating the atmosphere of the story very quickly. You need just a few paragraphs to be there. With a new family. Or on the fields next to a box with two cute kittens. Or on the train. It doesn't matter where she wants to take you. You are there, ready to read a story about the animals that can teach you much more than you can wish for.
I highly recommend reading The Goodbye Cat. If you love cats, you must read it. If you don't know these creatures, please let yourself understand them immediately. Also, it's beautiful literature, clever dialogues, and touching stories. If the world can be a better place thanks to books, this is one of them.
